Canada’s participation in the third edition of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup came to an end after a 1:2 quarter-final defeat to Korea DPR. Canada conceded twice in the final quarter of an hour before pulling one back in added time. Canada’s final push was not enough before it was eliminated from the final eight of the competition.
Canada’s final match of the tournament was played at 8KM Stadium in Baku, Azerbaijan on 4 October 2012. Soccer Fitness Inc. has published a new article “Parent’s Guide to Caffeine Use for Soccer Players” in Inside Soccer Magazine Issue #96 (May/June 2012). May 12, 2012 – (Re-printed from canadasoccer.com) Canada won a silver medal at the 2012 CONCACAF Women’s Under-17 Championship in Ciudad de Guatemala. The Canadians dominated possession and territory for most of the championship final, played on 12 May at the Estadio Cementos Progreso. An unfortunate mistake midway through the first half, however, was the only blemish in an 0:1 loss to CONCACAF winners USA.
Canada posted four wins and one loss in five matches at the 2012 CONCACAF Women’s Under-17 Championship. The team scored 17 goals and conceded just two, including the winner by Amber Munerlyn. Canada’s leading scorers in the tournament were Summer Clarke (six) and Valérie Sanderson (five), while USA Summer Green was the tournament leader with 12 goals (albeit she was held off the scoresheet …

The Canadian Women’s U17 National soccer team will be heading to Guatemala, May 2nd – 12th, 2012, to compete in the CONCACAF Championship Tournament, the top three teams of which will qualify for the 2012 FIFA Women’s U17 World Cup in Azerbaijan in September. Richard Bucciarelli, President of Soccer Fitness and Fitness Coach with the Canadian team, will be traveling with them to Guatemala for the Championship Tournament.
Canada competes in Group A, with matches against Panama (May 2nd), Jamaica (May 4th) and then against host country Guatemala on May 6th.
